Here is how you can help:

Donate. All contributions are welcome and help us continue the work for community cats. Donate here.

Volunteer.
To volunteer, fill out the volunteer form. If you are not sure what you want help with, we are happy to chat with you to find a good fit. You can see what some of the jobs look like below.

Foster. We are always looking for foster homes for kittens, so fill out a foster application* if you are interested. The more space we have to house and care for kittens, the more needy kittens we can take in. Just bring your big heart, and we will train you for the rest.

Below are some specific and important volunteer positions descriptions that we need to fill. These are all PDF files.

The above job descriptions may include these types of activities:

  • trapping (usually Sunday and Monday nights, 1-3 hours per night; training & traps provided);

  • transport (includes transporting trapped animals to facilities in Harrisonburg, Front Royal, Marshal and Arlington);

  • foster care (requires a secure place for kittens of various ages, care and feeding, two-three weeks average fostering time, but can vary);

  • monitoring TNR requests (check mail requests, 2 hours/week);

  • help with fundraising (thank yous to donors, help with organizing events, facebook fundraising campaigns, 1-4 hours/week);

  • colony caretaking respite (provide respite for some of our colony caregivers when they go on vacation or otherwise are not able to cover their colony. Provide food, water to outdoor colony cats, 1 hour/day/colony).

  • community outreach (help staff tables at community events, make presentation to community groups).

    These are general outlines and we can certainly scale activities to your volunteer interest.
